SA 3000

SA1002 / SA3000 EMC Measurement Receivers

The SA3000 is a powerful, fully featured, EMC analyser. It will measure both conducted and radiated emissions according to the international EMC standards. It enables the user to assess the EMC compliance of products quickly and with good integrity. The analyser is controlled via a USB link from any standard PC using the software included with the analyser. This provides a user interface which is simple and intuitive to use.

RF910 & RF915

RF910 / RF915 Pre Selectors

These Pre-Selectors are high specification, switched band filters which track the scanning of the EMC Analyser. Control is via USB link from the Laplace EMCEngineer software supplied with SA1002 and SA3000 analysers. Installation and operation is completely automatic, and the filters will synchronise with the analyser scan without any operator intervention. A front panel switch allows manual operation if required.

Two models are available:

RF910 Band B, 150KHz - 30MHz. 8 filter bands

RF915 Band A & B, 9KHz - 30MHz. 13 filter bands

Pass band attenuation is just 4dB and out-of-band rejection is nominally 40dB.

All commercial LISN's include an artificial hand connection and a transient limiter. This adds a 30dB insertion loss. A 30dB pre-amplifier is included which can be connected in the RF output feed to return the insertion loss to 0dB.

All bar the heavy current LISNs are constructed in a flanged aluminium enclosure that can be bolted directly down to a ground plane (as required by standards). The underside of the enclosure is left unpainted to ensure good conductivity with the plane. The 16A and military/automotive LISNs have an RF output for each line, thus allowing parallel measurements of the emissions. This facilitates measurement of common mode and differential mode components of the emissions if required.





Antennas are normally required for the measurement of radiated emissions. We offer a wide range of antennas to suit the various requirements.

Cell filter & I/O compartment

Test Cells - LaplaCell

LaplaCells provide a facility for the rapid and efficient testing of the EMC compliance of products. These cells offer a calibrated and screened environment in which radiated emissions can be measured and immunity to RF radiation can be tested. They exceed the requirements of IEC61000-4-20, thus affording compliant testing to IEC61000-4-3 and pre-compliance testing for radiated emission testing.

The Cells are a modified form of GTEM cell, using a balanced dual septum design which maximises EUT volume for a given external size of cell, and dramatically improves field linearity. The EUT volume is fully lined in structural polycarbonate capable of supporting heavy products and access is via a large, full height door at the end of the cell. Adjacent to the door is the I/O filter compartment which can be customised to suit the users requirements. USB, RS232, Parallel, Ethernet, co-ax and other product specific filters can be added at time of ordering.

LaplaCells are specifically intended for use by manufacturers so that they can test their own products efficiently . The LaplaCell design is an advance on the well known GTEM concept. However, the use of a dual septum provides:

  • better field uniformity
  • compact external size
  • balanced septum fed with impedance conversion network to better match OATS conditions
  • Built-in field sensor
  • Camera and lighting options
